Dr. Katrien Vandoorne from the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering developed a new method that allows tracking the formation of immune blood cells in the bone marrow. For this, she used tiny magnetic iron oxide particles, which she tracked using various imaging techniques including in vivo MRI.
