The Innovation Hub

Thematic workspaces
Housed within two floors of Rambam's Helmsley Health Discovery Tower, right across the Technion Faculty of Medicine, the center will include 2,750 square meters of state-of-the-art facilities organized around six major themes:
AI & Medicine
Focus: Developing AI-based diagnostics, treatments and therapies and integrating them into the clinics.
The new home for TERA (Technion-Rambam Initiative in Medical AI). TERA leverages the Technion's leadership in AI and Machine Learning, Rambam's vast electronic medical record database, and newly developed streams of physiological clinical data for developing new diagnostics, predictive systems, decision assistance systems and therapies, testing these, improving them and ultimately integrating them into clinical workflows.

Biochips
Focus: Harnessing cutting-edge biochip technology for therapies and diagnostics
Developing fully-integrated platforms for continuous disease biomarker monitoring, implantable devices, and hybrid artificial organs. The expertise will span micro/nano-fluidic platforms, chip design, real-time data processing, cybersecurity and power sources.
Drug Delivery & Molecular Therapy
Focus: Precise drug delivery to specific organs and therapeutic targeting
Addressing the challenge of delivering molecular therapies such as gene therapy to precise tissue coordinates. Will provide facilities for producing delivery systems and testing them.

Medical Device Innovation
Focus: From concept to prototype to startup
Providing equipped spaces for interdisciplinary teams to work together to address unmet clinical needs through development of innovative medical devices, followed by testing these in clinical settings, while receiving support from in-house experts in fabrication, regulation, clinical trials and ethics.
Tissue Engineering & Regenerative Medicine
Focus: Developing biological tissue substitutes that can restore, replace, or mimic human tissues
Generating personalized human tissues for repairing damaged organs (such as the heart), for testing drugs and for creating organ-on-chip devices through the use of stem cells, bioprinting and tissue engineering

Healthcare Operations
Focus: Improving care access and quality through enhanced hospital operations
Enhancing quality of care by improving space design, workflows, procedures and resource management within hospitals by leveraging data collected in clinical wards, emergency rooms and operating theaters and implementing innovative solutions for better patient flow and care.
Shared Resources

Facilities and spaces for interacting with human subjects – recording physiological and clinical information, interactively testing assistive devices, collecting opinions and verbal information (interviews, questionnaires) and for storing and processing biological samples.
Space reserved for the integration of a deep-tech prototype fabrication company
